Library Summer Hours

Done hanging out at the swimming hole, need to do some library work? We are open this summer, including many evening and weekend hours - click here to see our hours. You can call us from the swimming hole too at 395-2760, or if there's wireless access there, lol, IM us at drakeref.

Where is everyone?

While enough of us are at Drake to be open and provide regular services, a number of our librarians are at the annual SUNY librarian's meeting, SUNYLA 2009, held this year at Onondaga Community College near Syracuse.

Several librarians are presenting this year, as well as one of our IT staff: Charlie Cowling on "LibGuides," our new research guides site; Jennifer Smathers, Logan Rath and Alicia Girvin on our new online ordering system; Logan Rath on using text messaging for "virtual reference;" Pat Maxwell, poster presentation on using portable barcode readers, and Jennifer Little with a poster on "Blended Planning."

US Government RSS Library

Like to be alerted to the latest news, offerings etc. in topics of interest to you from the vast information resources of the federal government? One way to do that is to sign up for one or more of the RSS feeds the US government produces on everything from economics to law to health and much more. Bing!

Microsoft has a new answer to Google's domination of the search engine market, called "Bing." There's lots of articles out there about it, here is one review. Try it, see what you think!
