Where is Ambatofinandrahana?

Why, it's at 20'33' latitude, 46'47 longitude, a town in Madagascar, Antananarivo province, and the name is pronounced "awm-BAH-too-feen-DRAH-en." And no, I didn't know that off the top of my head, lol, I just looked it up in our new edition of the Columbia World Gazeteer (REF G103.5 .C645.) This three volume set is a great place to get facts on geographic locations of all sorts, towns, rivers, mountains, historic regions like "Bohemia," and much more.

AquaBrowser - "My Discoveries"

In our new catalog, AquaBrowser, one option you have is to save items you have found in a folder you can access later. The folder is the "My Discoveries" tab in the tool bar. Note - you will be asked to login, and to do so you must register - it just takes a moment, and you can make your username and password whatever you want. We'd suggest making them the same as your NetID for email etc., as that will be easy to remember.

Woodstock

It was forty years ago this month that the music festival of Woodstock took place. If you weren't there, or were, but don't remember it clearly, lol, our FactsOnFile reporting service has a nice piece on it. The photo is one shot the last day of the concert, August 17th, 1969, from the Flickr site.

AquaBrowser

What's an "AquaBrowser?" It's an innovative software that promises to make our catalog much more userfriendly. Have a look!

"Greenr"

From now till the end of the fall semester we will be trying out a new environmental policy and science site, "Greenr." It's an interactive site with articles, reports, maps etc. covering all sorts of environmental issues. (Pictured here is a wind turbine on the Bruce Peninnsula in Canada.)
