Hurricane!

As this is being written, Hurricane Ike is on track to slam into Texas. Such huge storms have long attracted attention and study, and we have many resources for anyone researching these ferocious systems. For example, books: we have have dozens of books in our catalog on hurricane meteorology, on the history of particular hurricanes etc., like the book pictured here, Divine Wind.

Article databases like Academic Search, JSTOR and ScienceDirect would be great for peer reviewed journal articles. Don't forget newspaper sites like Lexis, or the New York Times Historical Archive for articles on storms going back a century and more.

The government's National Hurricane Center gives you a wealth of information about current and past storms.
