What librarians do in the summer...

SUNY librarians typically work the calendar year, and use summer as a time to carry out projects, catch up on things etc., plus of course provide services to summer school students and faculty. One SUNY librarian has a somewhat different agenda for this summer however; Richard Delbango, a librarian at Nassau Community College, will be the ship's librarian for the summer cruise of SUNY Maritime's training ship (pictured here.) Richard is sharing his experiences through a blog which you can visit here.

In case you weren't aware of it, one of the many unique centers in SUNY is our Maritime Academy, a training school for the Merchant Marine.

I hate to berate the accuracy of your reporting, but I'm Scott Delbango and I'd just like to let you know that I'm not the librarian in question - just a guest blogger for when my dad, Richard Delbango, isn't available to update during his marriage to the sea. If you can make a correction, that'd be cool, cuz I don't want him to try to ground me for taking credit, since I'm 26 and that'd just be embarrassing.
