If you are a English major, someone who writes, or just a lover of language you will love this, it is the new Historical Thesaurus of the Oxford English Dictionary. As the set's introduction says, it is "...a unique new resource charting the semantic development of the huge and varied vocabulary of English. It is the first historical thesaurus ever produced for any language..."
This two volume set is not online, but is available for use in the reference collection of the library, on the main floor, ahead and to the right as you walk in. (REF PE1591 .H55)
