" ’Twas a caliginous night…"

Here is an interesting piece in the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) about a study of word use by English school children. Who would have expected the use of such words in the age of texting? There's a lot of other interesting resources on the OED, for example the timelines section, which gives you visual tables for when words entered the language. Oh, if you're not sure what "caliginous" means, you could always look it up there, the OED is the definitive English language resource :-)
