Finding books: our catalog and other resources

There are lots of ways to find books. The best starting point is our catalog. But, while we have the largest book collection of the four year schools in SUNY, no one has everything! That happened just now, someone was curious about Mark Helprin's new novel, In Sunlight and Shadow. A quick check of the library catalog showed other books by him, but not this new novel. There are some different options at this point. One could simply request the book through interlibrary loan; an easy way to do this is through WorldCat, which lists books in libraries across the state and beyond. You just look up your book, click on the interlibrary loan link, log in, and the form fills in automatically. Or, if you want, we have a link on our books page to "Area Libraries," which gives you access to public library catalogs in this part of the state. Many of our patrons live in the local area and sometimes visit the public libraries, so you might consider this option too.
