Old Newspapers & Other Old Things

Sometimes you need older materials, or what are sometimes called primary documents. A lot of this material is online nowadays, and we have quite a bit in microfilm and print copy as well. Asking a librarian is always a good start, but you could also check some of our library guides, like the one to newspapers, or the one for primary sources. Two examples of older newspapers online are the NY Times Historical Archive (1851-2009) and the local paper, the Brockport Republic (1856-1972.) Shown here is the NY Times newsroom in 1942!
