Monuments Men

A movie is out now on the "Monuments Men" of WWII, a special unit in the American Army who were tasked with rescuing the vast array of not only artworks but archives, books, and other cultural materials stolen by the Nazis throughout Europe. There are a number of resources on this intriguing unit which until now was not at all well known. A good starting point is a blog by a well known archivist who talks about them and gives links to more information. We are ordering some books on this episode in WWII history, and our history guide would help in finding more.
