Autism and vaccine scandal

In 1998 a doctor named Wakefield published an article in the Lancet, a prestigious British medical journal, asserting a link between MMR vaccine and autism. This was naturally a sensational linkage, resulting in great controversy, declining rates of vaccination and so forth. Now the controversy continues, with Dr. Wakefield condemned for fraud and stripped of his medical license, and the article denounced in the Lancet.

As always, as a member of the Brockport community you have access to many good resources to learn more about issues, including ones like this. For example, try our catalog for books. Use Academic Search and its more in depth companions for medical and health articles, CINAHL and MEDLINE with full text.
