An Arab "Spring"

The news reports on the protests and uprisings in the Arab world are seen daily, but it can all be a bit hard to follow unless one is a student of the region. For example, where exactly is Libya? What countries does it border? Who is Muammar Abu Minyar al-Qadhafi anyway? The library has many resources to help learn more about these events and the context in which they occur. An excellent starting point would be the special report in Facts on File about "Unrest in the Arab World," with a country by country look at the rulers, the opposition movements etc.

After that we would suggest having a look at our Country Information guide to learn more about where to find articles, books and reference materials like encyclopedias and government reports.
