Online now: dictionaries, encyclopedias...

Yes, there are a lot of good "reference" materials available online through the library nowadays. By reference we mean dictionaries, encyclopedias and other things too, like atlases and so forth. A good way to get at this material is to use our library guide to reference. Get on there and look words up in the OED, answer a geography question in the Collins World Atlas Gazetteer, check your grammer with the American Heritage Guide to Contemporary Useage and Style, or check out one of the online reference "libraries" like the Gale Virtual Reference, which has a number of scholarly titles on a wide range of subjects.
