Calais Jungle Library

Here's an article in the Spectator, a British publication, about a library in an unusual setting, that of the "Calais Jungle." This is a set of refugee camps near Calais, France, a staging area for migrants as they attempt to enter the United Kingdom. The inhabitants are from Afghanistan, Syria, Eritrea and other troubled areas. It is rather heartening, and touching, to see that in such difficult circumstances, the desire to learn, to read, to grow intellectually, is still present. Pictured here is a volunteer at the library.
